THE uki mycotherapy practitioners register

Our unique practitioner training course, "Exploring the Healing Potential of Medicinal Mushrooms" was developed to give healthcare practitioners the knowledge and skills that they need to deploy medicinal mushroom supplements within their own clinical setting. It was developed in collaboration with the National Institute of Medical Herbalists in  2020, to fulfil a post-graduate CPD need for healthcare practitioners. 

Designed as a 'bolt on' measure to the education and training requirements required by the healthcare disciplines. It equates to 100 hours of CPD time.  So far our students have been drawn from medical herbalists, doctors in general practice, clinical consultants, nutritional therapists, palliative care specialists, naturopaths, TCM practitioners and psychologists. We also welcome student practitioners (i.e people studying for their primary healthcare qualification), although they will not be able to join the UKI Mycotherapy Practitioners Register upon completing the course, until they first qualify in their major healthcare discipline.

Mycotherapy training offered through our provider, The Wild Side of Life, is recognised as a valuable CPD route by a growing number of professional bodies, including:

Irish Register of Herbalists
Association of Master Herbalists
International Register of Consultant Herbalists
Association of Registered Colonic Hydrotherapists

We also run occasional weekend medicinal mushrooms workshops for those who may not be healthcare  practitioners, but who still have a healthy interest in gaining a deeper insight into the healing potential of medicinal mushrooms. These are ideal for people of who are interested in understanding and maintaining their own health, and those in the food industry, for example health store staff, retailers and wholesalers, and they are open to practitioners too of course who wish to gain some more experience in practical medicine making.
